What Emma can do
LinkedIn (organic)
- Publish posts (text, image, carousel, document) to your profile or company page.
- Schedule posts for later.
- Comment on posts from your account.
- React (like, celebrate, etc.) on posts from your account.
- Pull per-post engagement metrics — impressions, likes, and comments — into Creative → Social Posts.
LinkedIn Outreach
- Send connection requests with personalized messages.
- Send DMs to existing connections.
- Run sequences against a CRM lead list — connection request, then follow-up DM, etc.
- Respects LinkedIn’s rate limits to avoid account flags.
LinkedIn Ads
Full create-and-manage, same as Google Ads and Meta. Build and launch- Create campaigns, ad sets, and ads. Emma translates LinkedIn’s API terminology for you — what the API calls a campaign group, campaign, and creative appear as Campaign, Ad Set, and Ad, matching the LinkedIn UI.
- Supported ad formats: single image, carousel, video, article, document, text, message (InMail), conversation, jobs, spotlight, follower, event, and VAST tag video.
- Post to the company page feed or run dark posts (ads that don’t appear on your page).
- Upload images, videos, and documents as ad media.
- Search LinkedIn’s targeting facets — titles, seniorities, industries, skills, company size, locations, member interests — and resolve them to real targeting URNs rather than guessing.
- Estimate audience reach before launch. LinkedIn won’t serve below 300 members, and Emma checks this before creating anything.
- Set the bid type — CPM, CPC, or CPV — with a unit cost (your bid amount), plus daily or total budgets. If you don’t specify, an ad set is created as CPC with a 2.00 USD unit cost.
- Update campaigns and ad sets, including pausing and archiving.
- Pull insights: impressions, clicks, spend, CTR, CPM, CPC, conversions, cost per conversion, leads, video views and completion rate, followers gained, and unique reach — broken down by campaign, ad set, ad, demographics, or time.
- New entities do not all start as drafts. What each one gets on creation:
- Campaign (LinkedIn’s campaign group) is created ACTIVE unless you ask for a draft. LinkedIn rejects PAUSED on creation, so asking for a paused campaign creates it as DRAFT instead.
- Ad Set (LinkedIn’s campaign) is created DRAFT unless you ask for another status.
- Ad (LinkedIn’s creative) is created ACTIVE unless you ask for another status. This applies to all three ad paths — standard, dark post, and dynamic (jobs, spotlight, follower).
- Emma presents a consolidated campaign brief — objective, format, bid strategy, budget, targeting, estimated audience size — and stops for your explicit confirmation before creating anything that spends. A fully specified request doesn’t skip this gate.
- LinkedIn has no delete via API. Removing an ad set means archiving it.
- Campaign type is immutable after creation, so Emma asks what ad format you want before creating.
If campaign creation fails with a permissions error, the ad account likely needs to be added to the LinkedIn Developer Portal app’s Account Management list. Reading insights can work while creation doesn’t.
Permissions
LinkedIn (organic) and LinkedIn Ads use LinkedIn’s standard OAuth scopes for posting and reading analytics. LinkedIn Outreach uses Unipile under the hood, which connects via your LinkedIn session. Treat your Outreach connection like an active LinkedIn login — if you sign out everywhere on LinkedIn, you’ll need to reconnect Outreach.Disconnect
Click the LinkedIn card in Settings → Accounts and choose Disconnect for the capability you want to remove. Disconnecting one capability doesn’t affect the others.Troubleshooting

Confirm you connected the right account or page. If you connected a personal profile but expected posts on a company page, disconnect and reconnect with the company page selected.
LinkedIn Outreach connection drops repeatedly
LinkedIn Outreach connection drops repeatedly
Outreach piggybacks on your LinkedIn session. Multiple device logins, security challenges, and 2FA prompts can invalidate the session. Reconnect from Settings → Accounts and complete any pending security challenges in LinkedIn directly.
